The Solar Nature of Christianity

Christianity possesses several aspects which indicate it is likely an anthropomorphised form of sun worship.

Some of the evidence follows…

1. Jesus is “the Son of God”.  There is a double meaning in that, “The Sun of God.”

2. Jesus is “the Light of the World”

3. His birthday is ascribed to December 25, shortly after the Winter Solstice

4. His Resurrection is in the spring and is associated with the Spring Equinox and the reawakening of nature after a long harsh winter.  The yearly date of Easter is determined based on both the solar and the lunar calendars.

5. Many Christian prayers end with the word “Amen.” This is likely derived from the name of the Egyptian Sun God “Amun-Ra”

6. The Unleavened bread of the Christian Eucharist is frequently made in a circular form representing a sun disk.  It is also put into a monstrance making it clearly a sun symbol.

7. Jesus was a great spiritual teacher and philosopher with 12 main students/disciples called apostles.  Some scholars claim this group organization is symbolic of the astronomical sun surrounded by the 12 signs/constellations of the zodiac.  Jesus of course would correlate with the sun.

8. One of the Symbols of Christ is the fish.  Several of his apostles were fishermen.  Jesus himself was considered to be “a fisher of men.”  The symbol of the fish is related to the constellation Pisces.  The zodiac is related to the Precession of the equinoxes.  The Zodiac constellations indicate the location in the sky where the sun rises during consecutive 2160 year periods taking 25,920 years to move through the entire zodiac.  It is caused by a “wobbling” of the earth on its axis.  Jesus superseded Moses who is represented by a ram and symbolizes the zodiac sign of Aries.  Presumably Jesus himself will be superseded by a new teacher who will have a symbol related to the zodiac sign of Aquarius.

9. The days of the week are named for Luminous objects in the sky.

Sunday – The day of the Sun

Monday – The day of the Moon

Tuesday – The day of Mars

Wednesday – The day of Mercury

Thursday – The day of Jupiter

Friday – The day of Venus

Saturday – The day of Saturn

The Christian holy day is Sunday, The day of the Sun.

Christianity is a Mediterranean Mystery religion closely related to Egyptian and Greek religions of the time.  Many of the personalities of ancient mystery religions are symbolic of luminous objects in the sky such as the sun, the moon, the planets and the stars.  Many Greek and Egyptian mythological figures are associated with constellations.

Jesus Christ himself appears to be a composite of various aspects of several Mediterranean Mystery Religion Deities…

1. The name “Jesus” is a derivative of the name of the Supreme Sky God of the Greek pantheon, “Zeus.”  Zeus is associated with Thunder and Lightning however one of his Sons, Apollo, was a Sun God.  So, a son of the supreme god is the Sun God.

2. Being “the Sun of God” and “the Light of the World,” Jesus is a variation of the Greek Sun God Apollo.

3. Being a Wine God, Jesus is related to Dionysus the Greek Wine God.  Jesus turned water into wine and he died and was resurrected like Dionysus.  Dionysus was a god of ecstasy, divine Love.  Dionysus is also associated with religious sexual practices as is Jesus.  (See the essay titled “Sexual Techniques of Spiritual Awakening“)  Red Wine is one element of the Christian Eucharist and is considered to be the blood of Jesus Christ.

4. Jesus was a great god of healing similar to the Greek god Asclepius.  Asclepius was a Greek god of healing and a son of the Sun God Apollo.  Jesus and Asclepius both were so good at healing they could raise humans from the dead.

5. The Egyptian God Osiris was a wine god who also died and was resurrected.  Osiris is associated with the constellation of Orion.  The three stars of Orion’s belt appear in the nativity story of the birth of Christ as the three wise men coming from the East.

6. The Egyptian God Horus is a Hawk headed savior god who is associated with Barley.  The scientific name of barley is “Horedeum Vulgare”.  “Hordeum” comes from “Horus God”.  Barley is the grain traditionally used to make unleavened bread.  Unleavened bread is one element of the Christian Eucharist and is considered to be the body of Jesus Christ.  Barley is often made into flat circular wafers representing a sun disk.

7. The Egyptian God Horus is also a Sun Deity.  In Egyptian hieroglyphics he is sometimes shown with a sun disk above his head.  Additionally, the name “Horus” is related to the word “Hour” a major unit of time.  Traditionally units of time are measured by astronomical phenomena.  The year and the day are based on the Sun.  One revolution of the earth around the sun correlates to one year.  One rotation of the earth on its axis correlates to one day.  One 24th of a day correlates to one hour.  So Horus and Jesus are both Sun Deities.

8. The Greek mathematician/philosopher/musician/religious cult leader Pythagoras considered himself to be a son of the Greek Sun God Apollo.  The New Testament contains hidden math knowledge in allegorical form.  The Christian symbols of the fish (the Vesica Piscis) and the Cross can be created using techniques of geometric construction and design using a compass and a straightedge.  These techniques were developed and propagated by Pythagoras and his followers around more than 500 years before Christ began his teachings.

The evidence is quite extensive that Christianity is a Solar based religion and Jesus is a personification of the Sun.
