Feminism
Feminism is a solution to a problem. Unfortunately it is a disastrous solution to an incorrectly characterized problem.
The problem is not an issue of traditional gender roles in society. So the solution is not a reversal of gender roles. The problem is not men being men and women being women. So the solution is not for women to behave like men and men to behave like women.
The problem was and continues to be the same old problem which has plagued the human species for thousands of years, PEOPLE HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME GETTING ALONG WITH EACH OTHER. Women found themselves in very unpleasant situations. They were oppressed. They were financially dependent on men they did not get along with or were flat out afraid of. They were treated badly by demanding ungrateful husbands and demanding ungrateful kids. The obvious solution was for women to earn their own incomes so they could be free to stay or go, marry or not marry, have children or not have children. This seems to many to solve the problem, and to a certain degree it does. But, at another level it does not because the real problem wasn’t and isn’t women being forced into the traditional female gender roles of wife and mother. Nor is the real problem a lack of freedom and options by being financially dependent on someone else, although two independent sources of income in a family can be a good thing. The real problem is that HUMANS TEND TOWARDS CONFLICT IN THEIR INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS.
THE REAL SOLUTION, THEN IS TO LEARN HOW TO GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER. This is of course much easier said than done. Apparently it is easier to fight and hate and upturn the social structure of society than to actually learn to get along.
The root of the problem is that the vast majority of humanity is psychologically damaged. Many are raised in dysfunctional families and socialized by dysfunctional societies. This literally damages the structure of their souls. I personally have spent the last twenty-five years of my life trying to undo the damage done to me in the first twenty years of my life, damage done from a variety of different sources. No anger. No need to point fingers and blame. Just a need to heal.
This same need to heal exists in almost everyone on this planet, male and female. When we are successful in this process we become more able to interact with each other from a place of love, appreciation and respect as opposed to anger, fear, hatred, manipulation and ridicule.
The spiritual disciplines discussed on this website, which lead to enlightenment and spiritual awakening, are the most potent forms of soul healing yet developed by humanity. I encourage you to heal yourself then do your part to help heal the world.
